NOW...Blogging via a Sat. Dish, that I own..............

It's me. First off, I'm glad to see others making use of the the blog, or should I say using the blog as it was meant to be used. ........
just got off the phone trying to explain that a zip code does not define coverage of a sattelite, cuz some chick said to me " I typed in your zip code, and it said it should work" Obviously overlooking the fact, that I don't know her ,and wouldn't be calling her unless something was broke

Howdy!

Just a quick hello to all of you out there. My shoulder is not getting better as fast as I would like it to. I have been a driver all my civilian life but I will probably have to change that now. Some of you read my poem awhile back and I am really thinking about a career in writing. Before any of you laugh I know I misspell a lot of things on this blog, my brain just moves faster than my hands, besides thats what spell check is for. As allways I remain your brother and fellow jarhead!

Weidow Update

Hello All,
Hope everyone is well. Wanted to post to keep in touch and update everyone on the Weidow Family. I am back in NC and working with Marines again, WOOHOO! I am the Academics Officer at Instructional Management School (IMS) Camp Johnson. Jenny graduated from UNC Greensboro in May; now she just needs a job or to get married! She will be 23 this Sept. Linda is still an active duty case manager at the Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune; she really loves her job but unfortunately she is too busy. George, you do not have to send instructions on how to post; figured it out. Need to do some preliminary planning with the West Coast Boys. I will be in Camp Pendleton from 5-9 Sept for some work/play; Oohra when's the T-time! Dave, don't know when the T-times, oh I mean agenda is yet but if you call 910.455.2366 home, 910.450.1266, work or cell @910.382.0617 or via e-mail at wweidow@ec.rr.com or william.weidow@usmc.mil we can do some planning if you have some free time during that period. Same for all the west coast gang. Don't know when the last time y'all were aboard Campend, but I can get you on if you would like to take a walk down memory lane. God Bless all and hope to see some of the boys in Sept. OUT.

George is Down but Coming Back

I talked with george again last night. He got a new
cell phone and felt the need to call I guess. It must
be better cause I never heard any of that static
that tyically plagues our calls. Anyway, he said he
bit the bullet and shelled out the big bucks for a
sattelite setup for the internet. He is hoping to have
it up and operational by Friday. I'm not holding my
breath till Friday, but I'm sure we'll hear from him as
soon as he is able. I hope yer weekend is going fine so
far. It was kinda like a normal workday for me so far.
I was up and logged in at 6:30 this am. Gotta finish giving
the company those 9 hours they payed me for yesterday.

I had lunch with one of Georgia's finest yesterday. One of our
State House Representatives, The Honorable Bobby Reese.
Not that I have an in with the state politicians or anything
like that. He is someone I knew from my employment with
Ga Power. He left the company about eight years ago
and got involved in state politics a couple years after
he left. Anyway, that lunch and the trip to the mall
afterwards with Denise and Trevor is why I didn't get
all my time in working from home yesterday.

Gotta get back to work and finish today's piece of
yesterday. I just wanted to say Hi and give you an
update on Ron's online status.

Saying Howdy

Dale great to see you on the blog more, I really enjoyed our conversation last weekend. I wish more of you guys would blog-on more often. I really blew out my shoulder this time, between the pain meds and the muscle relaxers I'm even more loopy than normal. The grand-baby is already over a month old, he's starting to recognize his family and in his own little way trying to comunicate, but he's still mostly an eat and poop machine. Thats all for now, and as always I remain your brother and fellow Jarhead.

Sunday Update

I just got off the phone with Ron. He said he would be
back online in a couple of weeks. I have been trying to
work as an intermediary for Ron to get the website
back up. Some kind of problem with a credit card switch
and the billing not being handled right now.

Crash called yesterday to say he is getting ready for a
big road trip with his wife, the real one not the bike, and
his bike and his three Yorkies. First stop, Volney 'Bubba'
Monteith in San Antonio. They are heading west from there
thru New Mexico and Arizona towards Southern Califonia
where he is supposed to hook up with Dan the Man McNally
on his way thru LA. Dave, you ought to see if you can get
hold of Dan and maybe participate in the rendezvous with
Crash before he heads north to the untimate destination and
the real reason for the cross country trip. The big biker rally
up in the great north west, Sturgis. He said they are going to
be on the road for the next month. Only the childless ones get
to take trips like that.

The storm is coming. I may be on my way south tomorrow
morning with a bunch of other Ga Power folks. It all depends
on what kind of damage gets done when Dennis comes ashore.
They say it is building strength and might be Catagory 4 when
it hits the coast. Time will tell.

Baseball is over for the summer. Trevor finished up last weekend.
They had a 23-3 season.

Gotta go. Semper Fi Jarheads.

Ouch Dale - that hurt. I reported to Okinawa in July of 2001. 2 months later, the whole world changed. Those marines stateside have had the opportunity to deploy in combat 1-3 times since. I was able to get off Okinawa - finally, and now it will soon be my turn. It is great to see so many young Marines with so many medals. I have a LCPL, who has already deployed to Iraq 2 times, in less then 3 years. Many have combat decorations for valor, and purple hearts. The Corps will be well served for the next 2 decades with combat vets. As to the Colonel, he is a Marines Marine, and has served in most every conflict in his 28 years. I simply plan to strap on, hold tight, and go for the ride of my life.
