Yea, george the project is nearing completion. The cabinets are all in and lighting fixed up.
Just waiting on the counter top to be installed. Then of course I have to put up the
tile on the backsplash. I'll have pictures out soon as i can. Matter of fact I can probably
go ahead and get some good ones of the floor so everyone can see the work you do.

They just don't make Marines like they used to I guess. Course the Marines from the 50's
would have said the same thing about us probably. It is a different world out there.
The schools and the government, or should I just say the govenment schools are just
busy turning out a bunch of over-sensitized, panzies who have been told you have a right to not
to be offended and your needs are more important than the units. Let me stop before I
get hot.

Today was motivating for my 45 year old body. Had a BN run at 0530. 30 Marines/Sailore dropped out. However, the other 500 did just fine. Here's one short story to illustrate the caliber of worker
these days.
I tell the guy that there is a two hour job, 45 minutes away,
and if goes and does it, He'll get paid for the whole eight hours.
This was followed by a dumb look and the question, Are you going
to give me gas money????

Oh so true. The Academy was a JOKE by comparison. Yell at me and call me names. Hell, spend a week at MCRD Parris Island in the late 70's or before and talk about stress! I agree prior military especially USMC makes for a better employee. Semper Fi and have a good weekend. My 2 week vacation starts tomorrow. A chance to let the beard grow out and vegetate. I love my life!!!!!!!!

I always tell those who are getting out that they will become the most productive members of the working force. The habits we develop in the Corps, will last a life time. You all remember the tough days at NTA or CTA where we lived in the rain for days at a time. Or 2 weeks in the field in the summer at CAMPEN. Or sucking rocks for water in Austrailia for 30 days of tough field living. Long hikes, long patrols, lots of PT. Good work ethics come fast in this line of work.

I ask all of my fellow Dragons this question. Have you had ANY day at WHATEVER job you held that was as difficult or demanding as any felid exercise we went through? NO STRESS - How stressful can it be if the stapler jams, or the report is a little late....lol

I will attempt to take some pictures of Camp Hansen next week. I have one company on that camp and try to get up there every other week.

How's it feel to be the 'official' custodian?

Pretty neat reading the memories that some of you have from our days
in the Corps. Who remembers that trip some of us made to the beach there on base,
when Henri had to get rescued by the life guard? We just 'thought' those waves looked
good for body surfing.

17:52 for three miles. I am impressed Andy. The best I ever did was 18:32 and that was
when I was 21.

How about the time that TC chased that Marine who was stealing a stereo from one of us. If you recall, TC chased him down and caught him while he was naked. Poor guy picked the wrong barracks and the wrong guy to catch him. I guess going on liberty with a mouth piece and a roll of quarters finally paid off

Funny times we had back then. However, all kidding aside, it was the worst of times for me as a Marine (professionaly speaking). Hardly SGTMAJ material back then. You all know what some of us did back then, but thankfully we all out grew that trash. I'm very thankful for the leadership I learned from Goveia and Gilchrist. They both taught us a lot.
